The Highland Federation is a municipal federation formed by Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. These five municipalities, located in the Småland highlands, value cooperation and know that we are stronger together. By combining our strengths and resources, we can increase competence, better utilize resources, improve quality, and provide better service to our residents. Today, we have a range of different operations working for the benefit of the entire Highland.

One of the operations within the Highland Federation is Highland High School. Highland High School has schools in Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. In total, we have about 550 employees working to ensure that our approximately 3000 students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for the future in the workforce or for further studies.

Your New Job

At Brinell High School, there are about 1100 students and 200 employees. As a janitor with us, you will be part of a team of janitors responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the school's facilities and equipment. We believe that a well-maintained school contributes to creating a safe and functional working environment for both students and staff.

Your duties will include performing standard janitorial tasks such as daily inspections of buildings, classrooms, and common areas, minor repairs and maintenance of facilities and furniture, handling of maintenance requests, and contact with external suppliers as needed. The role also includes the maintenance of outdoor environments and management of locks, alarms, and keys. In this janitorial role, there is also an extended responsibility as a coordinator for the janitorial team as a whole, and you will lead the daily work. You will also work together with program managers and school management to coordinate the school's purchases and ensure proper inventory management to reduce waste and avoid unnecessary purchases of materials that already exist.

About You

We are looking for someone who has completed high school education, preferably from a vocational program, or experience that we assess as equivalent. You need to have experience working with property maintenance and IT skills to manage purchases and inventory management, as well as experience with other computer-controlled systems, such as alarm systems and maintenance request systems. To work with us, you must have a B driver's license and preferably experience driving with a trailer. If you have knowledge of sound and lighting systems and electrical knowledge, that is an advantage.

As a person, you are secure and stable and have good self-awareness. You meet colleagues, teachers, and students with a willingness to help and find solutions to arising situations. You take responsibility and drive processes forward while being adaptable to changing circumstances and quickly adjusting to solve arising situations. You have an easy time collaborating with others and communicate well.

About Our School

Brinell High School is located in Nässjö and, starting from the beginning of the 2024/2025 school year, will be one of four schools within Highland High School. Together, we can improve competence, raise quality, and provide high school students with even better conditions for success.

At Brinell, we have about 200 employees and approximately 1100 students. We offer 14 national programs and have a national sports high school in bowling, national sports education in bandy and basketball, as well as local sports education in basketball, football, and ice hockey. In addition, we also have music and dance programs.

Our guiding principles are respect, responsibility, knowledge, and well-being. We strive for structure in teaching, to maintain a conducive learning environment in lessons, and for our students to feel safe and comfortable with us. The school has a newly renovated modern library that is an important part of the educational activities.

Good to Know

The first interviews will be held on Teams and are planned to take place at the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4.

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement, in accordance with the Education Act, that you present an extract from the criminal record for work within the school. You can request this extract on the police's website.
